There are many options for a consumer to help resolve their credit problems. These options are available to all consumers, and can cost very little.
First, you can order your 3 credit reports from Eqifax, Experian and Trans Union for free, if you have never ordered them in the past. Or, if you have been turned down for credit, employment, insurance, or a rental dwelling because of information in your credit report within the preceding 60 days.

Credit bureaus are required to follow reasonable procedures to ensure that the information they report is accurate. However, mistakes may occur and this has a negative affect on your credit score.
You have the ability to dispute any negative items on your credit report that you feel are inaccurate. The credit bureau’s are required by law to investigate all claims of inaccurate information.
